        Thomas Sexton Gallion was a bee keeper in Virginia. He joined the troops of Capt Hale in the War of 1812. While he was away from home, a neighbor stole his bee hives and his lively hood. When he returned from the war he confronted the neighbor and they came to blows, Thomas having killed the neighbor. Fearing for his life, he fled to Kentucky,where he assumed the name Gallion (taking mothers's maiden name or so we believed). He married twice and raised a large family. Owned property, worked for county but lost all to carpetbeggers during the Civil War. Name change was filed in court when Thomas had to appear to claim bounty land and proved that he was Thomas Sexton.

Notes for Archibald Sexton: Archibald is not proved as a son of William's, but it is quite likely given the migration of his children and William's line. If anyone can prove this we would be very greatful.

      Sep 21, 1811 Ordered that alterations be made in the road from near John Robinson's to Point Hope Furnace - keeping old road to the river, and going on the Island by a sycamore tree below the old ford, and with the old road to John Welch's field, and leaving the old road to the right to James Sexton's old house, and then with the old road to Mrs. Karer's along the side of her apple orchard and down a branch and near the mouth, and crossing a creek where it has formerly been cut out for wagons to cross, and with said tract to the lower corner of William Bourn's meadow... and by a cleft of rocks and with said road around his meadow to the old road again.
