I, Gustavus Clark, clerk of court of Probate of said County, holden at Bedford in and for said County, do hereby certify that satisfactory evidence has been exhibited at said Court at its November term A. D. 1848, that William Sexson, late of the county of Whiteley and state of Kentucky, was a pensioner of the United States for his service, as a soldier of the Revolution: that he was a resident of the said county of Whiteley and died in said county on the 31st day of December in the year eighteen hundred and twenty-nine: that he left a widow Leah Sexson and the following children by his said widow,* towit: James Sexson, Enoch Sexson, Jacob Sexson, Peggy Long (wife of Robert Long), William Sexson, Lemuel Sexson and Joel Sexson, and the following grandchildren by their son Free Sexson, deceased, towit: Morgan F. Sexson, Wallace P. Sexson, Greenberry R. Sexson, William A. Sexson, Jane Sexson, Elizabeth Sexson, Peggy Sexson, Carolyn Sexson and Polly Sexson: that said Leah Sexson survived her said husband until the eighteenth day of August Eighteen hundred and thirty-nine when she also died at Greene County, Indiana without having married since the death of her said husband or without having any other children

In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of said court the same being my seal of office at Bedford this 25th day of November, A. D. 1848

Know all men by these presents, That we, Joel Sexson Sr. and Lemuel Boone Sexson all inhabitants of the State of Indiana are held and firmly bound unto the State of Indiana in the penal sum of Six hundred dollars, for the payment of which, well and truly to be made, we bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators, jointly and severally, firmly by these presents. Sealed with our seals and dated this 8th day of May A. D. 1849

WHEREAS the above named and bounden Joel Sexson Sr. has been duly appointed by the State of Indiana, Administrator of the estate of Leah Sexson late of said county, deceased, and he is about to receive letters of administration as such Administrator which have been duly granted to him by said Court. Now therefore the condition of the above obligation is to the effect following, towit: that the said Joel Sexson shall diligently and faithfully execute the duties and trusts committed to him as such Administrator and that he will obey all orders and decrees of the Probate Court of said county of Greene made pursuant to law, touching the administration the estate entrusted to him; then and in that case said obligation shall be null and void, otherwise to remain in full force and vidue in law. Towit: His pledge of the said court

The undersigned, the administrator of the estate of Leah Sexson, late of said county, dec'd, would respectfully report that there has come to his hands no goods chattles rights or credits except the following claim towit: a pension due to the decedent as a widow of a revolutionary soldier from the United States, it amounting to the sum of Two Hundred and seventy six and 40/100 dollars which amount was by said administrator collected and drawn at Louisville, KY and which sum is now in his hands ready to be paid to the heirs of said decedent;
