A service followed in Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church, Pawtucket. The Rev. William E. Downey Jr., pastor, officiated. Ushers at the church were Andrew Seaton Sr., and Donald More. Burial was in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls, where Mr. Downey conducted committal service. LINCOLN - J. Harold Rafuse, 83, of The Holiday, 30 Sayles Hill Rd., an employee of the Shaw-Randall Co., Pawtucket, before retiring in 1967, died yesterday at the home.

He was the husband of the late Jessie (Burns) Rafuse.

Born in Fall River, a son of the late William D. and Caroline (Burns) Rafuse, he lived in Cumberland before moving to Lincoln five years ago.

Mr. Rafuse later worked for Technical Materials Inc. for 10 years before retiring in 1979. He was a member and a former chaplain of Barney Merry Lodge 29, F & AM, Pawtucket, a member of the Royal Arch Chapter 4, Pawtucket, the Fairlawn Bowling Association, the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church, Pawtucket, its Men's Choir, and its Mr. and Mrs. Club.

He leaves a son, Harold W. Rafuse; a daughter, Mrs. Caroline Allen, both of Lincoln, and three grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held tomorrow at 10 a.m. at the Smithfield Avenue Congregational Church, Smithfield Avenue. Burial will be in Moshassuck Cemetery, Central Falls. - - Providence Journal. Providence, R.I, pg. C-02, 4 Nov 1985.
